At Markland, we have a simple company vision – to make property management more honest, efficient, and effective. We aim to reduce costs, avoid business interruption, provide a safe, clean and healthy workplace for your tenants, and grow your property value. We’ve made managing your properties our business, so you can more readily focus on the needs of your business and your day-to-day life.
Generations of property management experience.
Our team comes from a long line of property owners and managers. In 1995, Ray Wilson and David H. Blanchard combined their years of property management experience, creating Wilson Blanchard Management. 25 years and a generation later, the need arose to focus on commercial properties and from that, Markland was born. Servicing Southwestern Ontario, we are a new company, but hardly new to the industry. Our pedigree speaks for itself, while our desire is to breathe new life into our business and that of our partners.

As Co-Founder and President of Markland Property Management, Evan and the executive team oversee property management functions and business operations. Involved in commercial real estate for over 15 years, he got his start interning at a property management company while finishing his degree at McMaster University. Evan is a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) and licensed commercial real estate broker, enabling him to implement creative, tangible solutions for today’s unconventional real estate challenges – believing that integrity and honesty are essential for establishing trust and mutual respect amongst leadership, employees, and clients.
Evan Apostol
President – B.Comm., CPM®
As Co-Founder and President of Markland Property Management, Evan and the executive team oversee property management functions and business operations. John graduated from the commerce program with honours from McMaster University in 2012. As a licensed real estate broker and a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®), he has over a decade of experience in the property management industry with a focus on commercial office and industrial buildings. John is highly involved with a number of Markland projects, making the most of his experience with tenant office build outs, and major mechanical and structural upgrades. Working alongside consultants and experts in each field while developing strong relationships with trades workers, he takes great pride in compiling the information required to make the best long-term upgrades to each asset/investment.
John Blanchard
Vice President – B.Comm., CPM®
John graduated from the commerce program with honours from McMaster University in 2012. As a licensed real estate broker and a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®), he has over a decade of experience in the property management industry with a focus on commercial office and industrial buildings. John is highly involved with a number of Markland projects, making the most of his experience with tenant office build outs, and major mechanical and structural upgrades. Working alongside consultants and experts in each field while developing strong relationships with trades workers, he takes great pride in compiling the information required to make the best long-term upgrades to each asset/investment.

David Blanchard has been active in real estate and property management since 1976. He currently serves as Chairman of Markland Property Management Inc. and President of Blair Blanchard Stapleton Ltd., the largest industrial and commercial investment real estate company in the Greater Hamilton Bay area. David is an Urban and Economic Geography graduate from McMaster University, Certified Property Manager® (CPM®), real estate broker, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and SIOR member focused on commercial and industrial real estate, from which his years of experience and expertise provide great value to Markland’s goals and objectives.
With 17 years experience in the commercial property management industry, Sherri concentrates on commercial retail properties managing over 138 tenants across 424,166 rentable square feet. As an interior design graduate, Sherri also specializes in CAD space planning for office build-outs. Friendly and dedicated with strong communication and customer service skills, she strives to build and maintain strong relationships with tenants and property owners.

With over six years in the commercial management industry, Ali’s portfolio is balanced between commercial tenants and high-end residential properties. As a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) and life-long resident of Hamilton, Ali is focused on the improvement and maintenance of infrastructure throughout the city. With over six years in the commercial management industry, Ali’s portfolio is balanced between commercial tenants and high-end residential properties. As a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) and life-long resident of Hamilton, Ali is focused on the improvement and maintenance of infrastructure throughout the city. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time at her cottage in Muskoka.

Though her portfolio currently consists of eighteen commercial office properties, she has previously found success in the retail and industrial sectors as well. She is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations of over 3 million square feet of commercial space. Residing in Hamilton for over a decade, Stephanie finds herself still taken aback by the city’s beauty and character. When she is not at work, Stephanie can be found enjoying Bayfront Park, or spending time with her dog Agnes.

Bringing over 20 years of experience as a customer service professional, Stephanie has recently transitioned into the commercial property management industry. She is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations of over 3 million square feet of commercial space. Residing in Hamilton for over a decade, Stephanie finds herself still taken aback by the city’s beauty and character. When she is not at work, Stephanie can be found enjoying Bayfront Park, or spending time with her dog Agnes.
Sarah has been in the customer service industry for over 25 years 15 of those in management, and is enjoying the transition into the commercial property management industry. She is currently responsible for the day to day operations of multiple medical, commercial and industrial spaces. Hamilton born and raised, Sarah has a special place in her heart for her hometown and its fantastic hiking trails. When not at work Sarah can be found puzzling and spending time with family and friends.
