John brings over 15 years of experience in commercial property management, with deep expertise in office and industrial assets throughout Southern Ontario. As Vice President and Co-Founder of Markland Property Management, he plays a central role in managing the company’s growing portfolio while leading the firm’s approach to capital projects, tenant build-outs, and long-term asset improvement.
A graduate of McMaster University’s Honours Commerce program, John is both a licensed real estate broker and a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®). His prior experience managing a large portfolio of office and industrial properties at Wilson Blanchard Management gave him a thorough grounding in the full lifecycle of commercial asset management — from lease administration and tenant relations to mechanical upgrades and financial oversight.
John is known for the relationships he builds with trades workers, consultants, and ownership groups alike, and for the care he brings to every capital decision. He takes the long view on improvements, always asking how an investment today extends the life and value of an asset tomorrow.
As a Co-Founder of Markland Capital, John leads the firm’s capital project execution across the Fund’s portfolio — ensuring that repositioning programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to the standard that institutional-quality tenants expect.
